What's in the price of ceiling tuc work?
Ceiling meters have their own post
For a rectangular ceiling, measure the length and width and note the result separately from the walls. In addition, write down the working height and sign in oblique parts, beams and jumps. The performer should be able to see which surfaces are accessible and where the work is interrupted. An image of the entire space is often more useful than just a detailed picture.
The existing finish determines the preparatory work
A ceiling with a fine existing structure does not automatically require the same approach as a damaged ceiling with loose layers. Specify cracks, previous leaks and spots where paint leaves. Let the quote distinguish between removing, repairing, flattening and smoothing. Ask if the final paint finish is included or will be executed separately later.
Bring light points and connections
Enter the location of spotlights, central boxes, curtain rails and the transition to the walls. Tune off who removes or restores parts. Also check that coverwork, work facilities and cleaning are included in the total. This allows you to compare a complete ceiling project instead of just a single amount per square meter.
This is what you discuss in advance
- Note ceiling area and working height separately.
- Photograph cracks, leaves and old leaks.
- Have protection, repair and painting named.
The preparation and work at close range.
This determines the price
A ceiling price is calculated with its own surface area, substrate, preparation, work height and desired finish.
A room of four by five meters has a ceiling area of twenty square meters. That number does not yet tell what preparation is needed. Old structure, seams, loose layers and repair after leakage are assessed separately.
Work access and protection count. A high staircase hole can require more preparation than an empty, flat ceiling at normal room height. Pass fixed parts and planned light points.
Compare whether the price only includes plastering or also covering and paint. paint-ready is not an automatic painting layer. Ask for clear numbers, exclusions and a total VAT included.
Check these parts
| Item | What deal? |
|---|---|
| Area | Measurement method and parts to be treated. |
| Preparation | Old layers, repair and appropriate pre-treatment. |
| Work Access | Height, obstacles and protection. |
| End Layer | Needed plastering and any paint. |
| Planning | Dry check and follow-up. |
Questions about ceiling costs
How much does plastering cost per m²?
The price depends on surface, substrate, preparation, construction of plaster layers, desired finishing and accessibility. A repair in a furnished room is not the same as a large empty floor. Ask for a price with separate meters, including work and a total VAT included.
Is painting always included?
No. Pleisterwork, primer and paint are separately named work. paint-ready does not mean that the wall is already painted. Speak the entire follow-up finish.
What layer thickness is required?
This is determined by substrate, flatness and material regulations. Thin finish work and extensive surfaces have different goals. Ask which structure fits the actual wall.
Why is a small job per m² sometimes more expensive?
Fixed operations such as transport, protection and cleaning remain necessary. Therefore, ask for a small repair of the full amount and the included work.

Does a high ceiling cost more work?
The height may have an impact on accessibility and necessary work facilities. Please indicate the height of the application so that this can be taken into account in the proposal.
Can I just get the damaged part repaired?
This is sometimes possible. Discuss whether a local repair remains visible in structure, shine or color and whether a larger surface needs to be finished.
Why ceilings have their own price structure
For ceiling work, working height, accessibility, protection and the substrate influence the design. An empty flat concrete ceiling is different from a ceiling above a stairhole or a ceiling with many recesses, lists and previous repairs.
Therefore, do not use the surface as the only input. Also indicate which wall finishes and floors are already ready. Protection of a furnished room can be planned differently than work in an empty new building house.
This is what you want to meet before the performance
| Component | What should you discuss? |
|---|---|
| Working height | Provide normal room height, vides and stairholes separately. |
| Existing finish | Name spack, paint, plates or old patch. |
| Details | Note spots, ornamental frames, cove edges and connections. |
| Subsequent work | Make clear whether pre-treatment and painting are included. |
This is how you make your question concrete
Two ceilings can be both 25 m² in size. The first is in an empty room, the second is above a staircase with decorative frames and built-in lighting. The number of meters is equal, but the working access, protection and detailing are not. Ask a price for the concrete situation.
Use this example as a call help, and the appropriate working method is determined by the actual state of your space.

Questions about this finish
Is ceiling tuc work always more expensive than wall tucing?
This does not have to be the case in every assignment. Compare substrate, accessibility, preparation and the desired finish instead of just the position of the surface.
How do I measure a ceiling with a cove?
Write down the large ceiling surface and the individual vertical and horizontal cove surfaces. Add a sketch or image and agree on the method of measurement.
